Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager with a degree in chemical engineering, metallurgy, or similar and extensive experience in sales to the mining industry in South Africa and West Africa.

Requirements include:

• BSc, honors or Masters degree in chemical engineering, metallurgy, or similar
• At least 5 years experience in new business development, preferably sales of consumables or chemicals to the mining industry
• A proven track record of developing new business, achieving and exceeding sales targets

Duties include:

• Account management of key accounts in South Africa
• New business development in West Africa
• Assisting clients with process improvements and optimisation projects
• Negotiations at highest level and communication at operational level at customers
• Compile sales forecasts and business plans
• Continually assess and analyse customer needs
• Preparation and presentation of tenders and contracts
• Represent the company at trade shows and conferences
• Implementation of new solutions and concepts
• Improve customer equipment efficiency
• Technical problem solving, technical surveys
• Working with technical support and development staff to ensure optimal performance of customer operations
